How Bin Chicken Co. collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Bin Chicken Co. ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. We're a Gold Coast-based waste removal and resource recovery company, and we take the handling of your personal information seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information we collect

When you request a quote or use our services, we may collect the following personal information:

  • person Name — so we know who we're talking to and who's on site.
  • call Phone number — to contact you about your quote, confirm bookings, and send job updates via SMS.
  • mail Email address — to send quotes and follow up on enquiries.
  • location_on Address — we need to know where the job is so we can provide an accurate quote and show up on the day.
  • photo_camera Photos — images you upload through our quote form help us assess the job and give you a fair price.

We only collect information that's necessary to provide you with a quote or deliver our services. We don't collect sensitive information like financial details, health records, or government identifiers.

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • check_circle Providing quotes and responding to your enquiries
  • check_circle Scheduling and completing your waste removal job
  • check_circle Sending you SMS updates about your booking (e.g. confirmation, on-the-way notifications)
  • check_circle Following up after the job to make sure you're happy
  • check_circle Improving our services and understanding what our customers need

We won't use your information for marketing unless you've opted in, and we'll never sell your data to anyone. Full stop.

3. Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run our business. These providers may process or store your data on our behalf:

Cloudflare

Hosts our website and provides privacy-focused web analytics. Cloudflare does not use cookies for analytics and does not track individual users across sites.

Airtable

Stores quote requests and job information we need to manage bookings, scheduling, and follow-ups. Your data is stored securely in Airtable's cloud infrastructure.

Twilio

Sends SMS notifications related to your booking (confirmations, updates, follow-ups). Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for this purpose.

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and security practices. We've chosen them because they take data protection seriously. We don't share your information with any other third parties unless required by law.

4. Cookies and tracking

We keep it simple. Our website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a privacy-first analytics tool. It does not:

  • block Use cookies
  • block Track you across websites
  • block Collect personal or identifiable information
  • block Fingerprint your browser or device

We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking tools. No tracking cookies. No retargeting. No creepy ads following you around.

5. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Act

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • visibility Access your data — ask us what personal information we hold about you.
  • edit Correct your data — if something's wrong, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • delete Request deletion — ask us to delete your personal information where we no longer need it.
  • do_not_disturb_on Opt out of communications — unsubscribe from any marketing at any time.
  • report Make a complaint — if you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can contact us directly or lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

6. Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, and disclosure. Your data is stored securely using the third-party services listed above (Cloudflare, Airtable, Twilio), each of which maintains industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit and at rest.

Some of these services store data on servers outside Australia (primarily the United States). By using our services, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to, and stored in, countries outside Australia. These providers comply with data protection standards comparable to Australian requirements.

We only keep your data for as long as we need it to provide our services or meet our legal obligations. When it's no longer needed, we delete it.
